This is a huge achievement and reflects not only their research achievements but commitment to teaching and ‘good citizenship’ within the department and beyond.
Prof Marella de Bruijn leads a team investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms that underlie the generation and maintenance of haemopoietic stem cells (HSCs). Marella is currently Director of Graduate Studies for the department, as well as director of the Doctoral Training Centre.
Prof Deborah Gill co-leads the Gene Medicine Group developing gene therapy for lung conditions, including the genetic disease Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Deborah was previously Director of Graduate Studies for RDM and now acts as Graduate Advisor within the Nuffield Division of Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
Prof Charalambos Antoniades leads a team focusing on the interplay between adipose tissue and cardiovascular disease. He runs a ‘Training in Cardiovascular Research Skills’ course through the British Heart Foundation Centre for Research Excellence.
