Our DPhil (Doctor of Philosophy) degree in Medical Sciences covers the whole span of the department’s research. In keeping with our focus on translational research, we welcome applications from both basic scientists and clinicians.
Most of our students, whether basic scientists or clinical fellows, are fully funded. The department is able to offer full funding at a generous level for basic scientists and our Principal Investigators have considerable experience in supporting clinicians in their applications for Clinical Research Fellowships (CRF).
The DPhil in Medical Sciences reopened to accept applications for October 2019 entry on Monday 3 September 2018. However, our DPhil profiles won't be published until mid-October 2018. We recommend applicants wait until the new list is published prior to making an application.
Congratulations to our RDM Graduate Prize Winners!
Congratulations to Huw Colin-York, Quentin Ferry and Thomas Riffelmacher, who won 2017’s RDM Graduate Prize. All three students displayed research excellence during their DPhil studies and have helped to progress their respective fields.
