Careers Advice
Completing a DPhil at Oxford opens up a wide range of opportunities and career paths, but making the right choice can be a daunting process. It can be helpful to have an idea of the career options available to you, even at the stage of deciding which project to choose when applying to study.
The first source of advice on careers for research students in RDM should be their supervisor. All students also have full access to the University Careers Service, which provides extensive information through their website and can also provide one-to-one advice.
Supervisors and departmental colleagues can often provide advice on careers in academia and RDM periodically organises associated events, particularly through the Career Development Committee. If you are interested in a career outside academia, the Careers Service has a website on other sectors and occupations.
