Case history A 29-year-old man was referred to the Lipid Clinic by his primary care physician because of the finding of an abnormal lipid profile and a family history of dyslipidemia. He had no symptoms suggestive of cardiovascular disease. His only past medical history was of an episode of depression, treated for a short period with venlafaxine.
