Liezel Tamon

PhD

COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGIST AND DATA SCIENCE TRAINER

I am currently a postdoctoral computational biologist teaching data science courses as part of the  Oxford Biomedical Data Science Training Programme and working on single-cell projects in collaboration with Neuroscience groups.

During my PhD with the Sahakyan Group: Integrative Computational Biology and Machine Learning, I transitioned from wet lab research to computational biology, with a focus on the 3D genome. My work involved investigating genomic contacts and how sequence-based factors influence contact formation across various cell types.

Driven by a passion for continuous learning, I have a keen interest in different aspects of computational biology, and I am eager to tackle the challenges of exploring new fields and learning novel computational methods.
