Mirian Angulo Salazar

BSc, MSc

Biobank Technician

I studied Biological Sciences at the University of Salamanca, Spain followed by a Master’s Degree Course in Microbiology at the Institute of Science and Technology of Barcelona, Spain.

I joined the Vyas Group in 2019 after initially working at the Early Phase Clinical Trials Unit (EPCTU), part of the Oxford University Department of Medical Oncology since 2014.

My work as a Biobank Technician focuses on coordinating the collection, processing and storage of samples kindly donated by patients with haematological cancers, including myeloid malignancies, lymphoproliferative disorders and myeloma & plasma cell dyscrasias. Our Haematopoietic Cell Biobank plays a crucial role in supporting scientific research to gain a better understanding of the biology of blood cancers. The ultimate aim is to improve patient outcomes by means of better use of existing treatments and the discovery of novel therapies.
