Grace Meaker undertook her Biological Sciences BSc at Cardiff University, with a specialism in Genetics. She gained experience with CRISPR in Dr Thomas Gorochowski’s lab at the University of Bristol, as well as working on fine-tuning genetic circuits for use in biotechnology.
Grace’s work in Oxford centres around haematopoietic stem cell biology, using genetic modification to discover key transcription factors underpinning expansion of haematopoietic cells. This is an area which is not well-understood but links to various blood disorders such as leukaemia.
