The UK Clinical Research Collaboration (UKCRC) has appointed Prof Amanda Adler, Director of the Diabetes Trials Unit, to the Executive Group representing UKCRC-registered clinical trials units (CTUs).
The UKCRC was established in 2004 to re-engineer the environment for clinical research in the UK and to benefit the public and patients by improving national health and increasing national wealth. UKCRC-registered CTUs are academic specialist trials units which design, conduct and analyse high-quality clinical trials and other studies. The Executive Group provides oversight, governance and accountability to the UKCRC Registered CTU Network and, among many responsibilities, advises on the key national and international issues affecting CTUs. Members are appointed for a term of three years.
