Investigating Extracellular Vesicle Communication with the Immune System in Cardiovascular Disease.

Research Focus

My research focuses on the interaction between extracellular vesicles and innate immune cells following an acute myocardial infarction. During my project, I aim to uncover the importance of different biomolecules associated with extracellular vesicles in this process in order to 1). identify novel diagnostic biomarkers and 2). use this discovery to explore the therapeutic potential of these particles in assisting heart disease patients.
