Annual leave
We offer an enhanced entitlement of 38 days annual leave per year (pro-rata for part-time staff), inclusive of bank holidays and fixed closure days. You can also request to purchase up to ten additional annual leave days in each holiday year.
Parental and carers’ leave
The University has one of the most generous family leave schemes in the Higher Education sector, including maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave schemes. In addition, staff can access statutory unpaid parental leave, an unpaid carers’ leave scheme, career breaks and a range of flexible working options.

Volunteering
Volunteering has strong links to workplace wellbeing. The University’s policy on voluntary public service activities allows each member of staff three days of paid leave per year to undertake volunteering activities.
