Many of our senior staff hold Honorary Consultant Contracts with the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. These Consultants work in specialised areas of medicine including Cardiology, Cardiac Imaging and Clinical Genetics. They are actively involved in patient care, often leading specialist services such as the Inherited Heart Disease Service.
These people are active scientists and are therefore uniquely placed to translate their laboratory research into the clinical setting. This is facilitated through the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Biomedical Research Centre: Oxford, a partnership between the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Oxford, which is funded by the NIHR.
