Nuala Simpson
Research Facilitator and Novo Nordisk–Oxford Fellowship Programme Operations Manager
I am a Research Facilitator in the RDM Research Strategy and Funding team. I am the primary point of contact for RDM researchers based in OCDEM and CVM wishing to apply for fellowships. I also manage the review of applications to internal funding opportunities such as the John Fell Fund and the Medical Sciences Internal Fund.
I am also Programme Operations Manager for the Novo Nordisk – Oxford Fellowship Programme, which supports the development of early career researchers in the field of diabetes and other cardiometabolic diseases.
I joined the University of Oxford in September 2023 from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council where I was a Portfolio Manager. My role involved the management of funding calls from submission of applications to grants being awarded. I am a scientist by training, with a background in molecular genetics. After gaining a DPhil from Oxford University I spent ten years working in academic research investigating the genetics of neurodevelopmental disorders.
