Prof Mark McCarthy and Professor Rury Holman appear in the 2014 "highly cited researchers" list published by Thompson Reuters.

This prestigious list includes those scientific researchers whose publications have been cited most often in academic journals over the past decade and rank among the top 1% most cited for their subject field and year of publication.

Those listed are identified as being among the world's leading scientific minds, along with the universities and institutions which employ them.

The University of Oxford has 33 highly-cited researchers across all areas of science.
