Miss Kinda Al-Hourani, a final year DPhil student with Prof Hal Drakesmith (Associate Professor Immunology) in the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine and the Investigative Medicine Division, Radcliffe Department of Medicine, was awarded a Silver Medal in the Biological Sciences Category at the SET for Britain 2015 competition earlier this week.

SET for Britain invites early-stage and early-career researchers to present their research at Westminster, and the researchers are then judged by leading academics. The competition encourages, supports and promotes these early career researchers who are key to the UK’s continued progress in and development of R&D. 

Kinda’s presented her poster entitled “Activins and antiviral immunity” to a variety of scientists, Members and Lords / Ladies including Andrew Miller MP, Chair of the HoC Science and Technology Committee.
