Rebecca Grossman is an MRC Clinical Research Training Fellow at the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism, and a specialist registrar in general surgery in the Oxford Deanery. Her specialty interest is in upper GI and metabolic surgery, and her current area of research is in the circadian mechanisms of liver metabolism. She is Associate Editor for Social Media of the British Journal of Surgery, and a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England Women in Surgery Forum.
Rebecca completed her medical degree at the University of Cambridge, intercalating in Zoology, and Guy's King's St Thomas School of Medicine in London, winning the Legg Prize in Surgery. She completed the Academic Foundation Programme and core surgical training in London. She then moved to Oxford for higher surgical training in general surgery. She has published network science research on social media use among surgeons, and papers on diversity in medicine. She is now undertaking a DPhil in circadian biology.
