Annual leave entitlement 

The leave year runs from 1 October to 30 September. All full-time staff are entitled to 38 days holidays (inclusive of bank holidays and fixed closed days), pro-rata for part-time staff. ​

Departments may grant additional leave to staff for a number of reasons.

Requesting and recording leave

Employees: use HR Self Service to check your leave balance, submit requests for leave, see approval status of leave requests and see or complete other absence records triggered by your manager/HR.

Managers: use HR Self Service to approve or reject leave requests, view a calendar of who is away in your team, manage the absence of people in your team.
