Fellow in Interventional Cardiology

Dr. Alessandro Maino is a Clinical and Research Fellow in Interventional Cardiology at the John Radcliffe Hospital and the University of Oxford.

He earned his medical degree from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart and completed his postgraduate training in Cardiovascular Medicine at the Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli Hospital in Rome, Italy.

He later held a postdoctoral research appointment at the Integrated Vascular Biology and Imaging Laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. In this role, he conducted fundamental and translational research on vascular disease, focusing on advanced in vivo and intravascular molecular imaging techniques.

His current research focuses on the pathophysiology and treatment of acute myocardial infarction. His work integrates a broad range of methodologies—including multimodal imaging, molecular biology, and electrophysiological approaches—to investigate novel therapeutic targets and underlying disease mechanisms.
