The RDM Student Forum exists to foster a community environment within the student body across all our sites and to encourage communication and feedback between students and staff in our Department.

What is the Forum?

The Forum is made up of the Graduate Representatives from across the Department, Peer Supporters and student members of RDM committees, such as the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee and the Researcher Association. It meets three times a year and is an opportunity for students to raise any concerns with RDM's leadership and provide feedback on various aspects of life as an RDM student.

Two members of the Student Forum attend termly Graduate Joint Consultative Committee (GJCC) meetings within the Medical Sciences Division as well as RDM Graduate Studies Committee meetings.

Social events

The Student Forum organises social events for RDM students throughout the year as well as induction/welcome events for new students. In the past these have included a film night, summer parties and outings to Junkyard Golf. They also organise the RDM Buddy Scheme to help new students adjust to the Department and foster connections across different year groups by pairing new students with current students within their division.

Raising issues with the Forum

If you have any student matters or suggestions that you would like to bring to the attention of the Forum, please use this anonymous form. You can also contact your graduate representatives directly to request they bring items to the Forum meetings for consideration. Examples of items for Forum consideration include but are not limited to student event feedback, suggestions for future events, student survey feedback and admissions process feedback.

Any academic concerns should be raised with your local Director of Graduate Studies.

See Welfare and Wellbeing for further support and information about reporting channels for other matters.
