Graduate Citizenship Award
The RDM Graduate Citizenship Award recognises students who have contributed significantly to the RDM community, fostering a culture of support and wellbeing. The call for nominations is made in December and the awards made in January/February.
CRITERIA FOR ASSESSMENT
- Taking the initiative to support fellow students in the academic sphere and/or in extra-curricular activities, beyond the normal expectations of a student member of RDM
- Making an exceptional contribution to improving the wellbeing of others in the RDM community (whether fellow students or staff)
- Building a stronger graduate community through volunteering their time for specific activities and projects
- Improving the student experience by promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in the graduate community
- Acting as a role model for others in terms of kindness and selflessness
This list is not intended to be exhaustive and all notable community spirited behaviour within the sphere of RDM will be considered.
Nominations should be made by the supervisor, or a fellow member(s) of the RDM graduate student community, or RDM staff. The nomination should provide examples of how the student meets some or all of the criteria above. The maximum word limit is 500 words. Individuals may not self-nominate.
ELIGIBILITY
- All current RDM graduate students are eligible
- Any DPhil student who has been given leave to supplicate within the last year of the deadline date is also eligible
- The student must have received substantive supervision from one or more RDM PIs
- No student may win the Award more than once on their course.
The evidence cited in the nomination may be from any period of time in which the individual was eligible for the Award (i.e. not restricted to the 12 months prior to the Award deadline).
PRIZES
A maximum of three prizes will be awarded with a prize of £250 per award. The awards will be presented at RDM Day.
