Application process key dates

  • September 2025 – Applications open
  • 2 December 2025, 12 noon (UK time) – applications for funded studentships close
  • Applications for the DPhil and MSc by Research in Medical Sciences received by 2 December will automatically be considered for funding if the applicant meets the eligibility criteria.
  • Week commencing 5 January 2026 - Shortlisted candidates start to be invited for interview
  • Week commencing 12 January 2025 – Interviews to be held remotely
  • Offers start to be made from the beginning of February
  • 19 June 2026 - course closes for all applications.
  • If you have your own funding in place, eg funding from your home government or a clinical fellowship, and do not need to consider funding from the departmental or Oxford scholarships, you can apply after the December deadline and up to 19 June 2026
  • 1 October 2026 – DPhil and Masters studies start date
