Dr. Alison Kay

Health experiences researcher

I bring an interdisciplinary approach to research into health experiences, exploring how scientific developments and new interventions impact patients and practitioners.

I am a co-investigator on the iPREGCARE study in the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine (NIHR207257), investigating the implications of personalised pre-conception recurrence risk information for the parents of children with genetic conditions.

I am also a researcher on the qualitative process evaluation for the Children's Surgery Outcome Reporting project (CSOR) in the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences.

In 2023, I was awarded a three-year Junior Research Fellowship with the Centre for Personalised Medicine (CPM). An example of my engagement is the 'Making it Personal' project - utilising theatre to spark conversations on the implications of genomic risk information (PCER Fund 204-2025).
