Olivia Conway
Novo Nordisk - Oxford Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Olivia joined the Antoniades group in April 2025 as a Novo Nordisk - Oxford Research Fellow. Her research focusses on the molecular mechanisms underpinning obesity and associated cardiometabolic disorders, with a particular interest in the role of adipose tissue. During her postdoctoral fellowship, Olivia is investigating the interplay between adipose tissue and the cardiovascular system in the context of insulin resistance.
Olivia completed her PhD in Clinical Biochemistry at the Institute of Metabolic Science, University of Cambridge in 2024, under the supervision of Dr Daniel Fazakerley. Her doctoral research focussed on the subcellular mechanisms regulating the adipocyte response to insulin. Olivia also holds an MRes in Metabolic and Cardiovascular Disease from the University of Cambridge, where she conducted adipose tissue research in the labs of Professor David Savage, Professor Antonio Vidal-Puig and Dr Daniel Fazakerley. She earned her BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Manchester, which included a placement year in the Taner Lab at the Department of Neuroscience, Mayo Clinic, USA.
Olivia is also a Junior Research Fellow at Worcester College.
