Stephen Minay

Senior Course Administrator

As the Laboratory Medicine Senior Course Administrator, I am responsible for the organisation of laboratory medicine teaching for 4th Year undergraduate and 2nd Year graduate entry medical students. The Laboratory Medicine Course runs annually between October-December as part of the 2nd Bachelor of Medicine degree course at the University of Oxford. I manage the provision and timetabling of all lectures, small group tutorials and other teaching sessions (approximately 650 teaching sessions in total) as well as the end of course examinations.

I work alongside the Course Director, Dr Deborah Hay, and the five subject coordinators for clinical biochemistry, haematology, histopathology, immunology and microbiology and infectious diseases. I liaise with clinicians and University staff to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of the course and examinations.

Students taking the Laboratory Medicine Course should approach me with any queries they may have. If I can't answer your question myself then I should be able to point you in the direction of someone who can.

I started at the Nuffield Division of Clinical Laboratory Sciences in October 2022 from the Oxford School of Global and Area Studies where I had been administrator for the Latin American Centre, and then the Contemporary South Asian Studies Programme and Middle East Studies. My background is in performance arts and I previously worked for both the Oxford School of Drama and the Royal Academy of Music.
