Research Assistant
I completed an MSc in Neuroscience at King’s College London, where my thesis focused on the molecular mechanisms underlying glia-to-neuron reprogramming, investigating how Lamin B1 and cytoskeletal forces influence Neurogenin2-driven neuronal conversion. I subsequently joined the UK Dementia Research Institute (Cardiff) as a Research Assistant, working on Cas9 nickase–mediated contraction of pathogenic CAG/CTG repeat expansions.
Before joining the Gene Medicine Group (GMG), I worked as a Senior Research Assistant at bit.bio, where I programmed human iPSCs into hepatocytes using opti-ox™ technology to generate scalable models for drug discovery and toxicity studies.
Currently, as a Research Assistant in the GMG, I contribute to the development of lentivirus-derived nanoparticles (LVNPs) for the transient delivery of RNP-based genome editors. My work encompasses CRISPR/Cas9 and CRISPRoff systems, as well as LVNP production and purification. I am particularly interested in epigenetic modulation strategies, where transient gene silencing can achieve therapeutic benefit without permanent alteration of the genome.
