Seren Ford

DPhil Student (Wellcome Genomic Medicine and Statistics)

I am a DPhil student in the Higgs lab, supervised by Dr Mira Kassouf and Professor Doug Higgs. In the Higgs lab, we are interested in how mammalian genes are switched off and on during differentiation, lineage commitment, and differentiation. My project explores how enhancers recognise and selectively activate their cognate promoters, focusing on enhancer-promoter interactions and promoter specificity at the alpha-globin locus.

I am the secretary of Oxford University Biotech Society, and I teach tutorials in Biotechnology at Keble College.
