Joel Atkin

In my role as Business Manager for Cardiovascular Medicine, I am responsible for all operational matters in the Division, working closely with the Head of Division to achieve our strategic objectives. I also lead the CVMed admin team, who have expertise in finance, HR, research grants and clinical research operations and governance.

I am also a member of a number of committees and working groups within RDM and the wider University, including the RDM Senior Leadership Team and the PRISM Working Group, which is building a new tool to track and visualise research portfolios in departments.

I have worked for the University since 2013 in a variety of roles across each academic division and beyond, most recently as the Deputy Administrator and HR Manager in the Department for Continuing Education (now Oxford Lifelong Learning).

Outside of work I enjoy playing football, listening to, watching and (occasionally) performing music, reading, and spending time with my family.
