Clinical Research Practitioner

Research Nurse and Support Team (RNST)

BIOGRAPHY

I am  a registered Clinical Research Practitioner at the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine (CVM) in Oxford where I support a number of clinical trials by liaising with principal investigators, site managers, study doctors and research nurses, as well as maintaining source trial data.

I am mainly responsible for supporting the Novo Nordisk-sponsored ZEUS clinical trial – a study to evaluate an IL-6 monoclonal antibody in patients with previous history of cardiovascular and kidney disease, as well as systemic inflammation. In addition to recruiting ZEUS study participants, I co-ordinate the collection and processing of blood samples, storing and logging samples on the local database and shipping samples with the correct temperature requirements, all in strict accordance with study protocols.

I work independently with multiple daily duties, and I am confident in prioritizing and executing urgent patient safety-related tasks, such as reporting serious adverse events.

Prior to moving to Oxford, I gained over five years’ experience of working in a biomedical research laboratory at Seoul National University in South Korea as a research assistant and then Master’s graduate.
