CAR T cell therapy (CAR-T) is a new and powerful treatment for some blood cancers.

Person using mobile phone

CAR-T is offering hope and remission for some patients - meaning their cancer goes away. But CAR-T can also cause serious side effects, so patients need to be closely monitored by doctors.

To help, we are developing a mobile app that helps CAR-T patients report their symptoms in real time - from home or
elsewhere. This should lead to quicker support and less need to be in hospital.

To get this right, we are working closely with patients and their families to shape every aspect of the app - from the symptoms it tracks, to the questions it asks - so their needs, experiences and priorities are at the heart of its design.

We hope this partnership approach will lead to an app that not only improves patient care, but also helps us better understand these ground-breaking therapies - so more people can have positive outcomes.
