ISEH 2025 Janet Rowley Award received by Dr Adam Wilkinson, Associate Professor and BTRU Theme 2 Co-Lead

Adam Wilkinson is an Associate Professor of Stem Cell Biology and a Co-Lead of Theme 2 in BTRU in Precision Cellular Therapeutics. The research of Theme 2 focuses on the new methods for expanding blood stem cells that can be translated into clinical trials and improving the specificity and safety of gene targeting approaches in blood cells.

It is our pleasure to congratulate Adam on receiving the prestigious 2025 Janet Rowley Award for his valuable contributions to the field of hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) biology. These cells support the generation of blood cells throughout life and have huge therapeutic potential as cell and gene therapy.

The Award is delivered by the International Society for Experimental Haematology (ISEH) and has been established in honour of Professor Janet Rowley, the first geneticist to identify a chromosomal translocation as the cause of cancers.

"It’s an honour to receive this award from the International Society for Experimental Haematology. But I really need to credit the great team that I’ve been lucky to work with, and my wonderful collaborators and mentors here in Oxford and around the world."
