There are large number of resources available to support the career and personal development of staff and students. RDM supports researchers' right to ten days of professional development.
Mentoring
In 2014, RDM introduced a mentoring scheme for all members of the department. The aim of the scheme is to assist staff (academic, research, professional support) and postgraduate students to achieve personal and professional growth through a mentoring relationship that provides support as they progress and develop within the University. Around 24% of RDM staff are taking part in the scheme.
Career Development Committee
The RDM Career Development Committee (CDC) aims to support the career development of all staff and students across RDM. The CDC plays a key role in raising awareness of career opportunities across the department, in providing training and support at key career transitions (eg postdoc to independent researcher) and in championing career development.
