As a Cardiology registrar with interests in imaging and electrophysiology, working in the Oxford (Thames Valley) Deanery working with the Reilly Group on adverse cardiovascular remodelling and fibrosis in atrial fibrillation.

I am undergoing a DPhil in Medical Sciences funded by a Clinical Research Training Fellowship from the British Heart Foundation. My DPhil focusses on the fibrotic and inflammatory processes which may underlie the processes of structural remodelling within the heart, and aims to untangle the relationship between these molecular pathways structural changes in atrial fibrillation, the most prevalent clinical arrhythmia worldwide, with significant costs to the NHS and global health systems. The identified molecular pathways may then be selected for targeting as potential therapy options to avert structural remodelling in pro-fibrotic heart diseases.
