RESEARCH INTEREST

EARLY ONSET COLORECTAL CANCER

  • Early Detection Strategies
  • Disease Biomarkers
  • Mechanistic Investigations
  • Early-Onset Colorectal Cancer in Low- and Middle-Income Countries

My research focuses on colorectal cancer, particularly early-onset colorectal cancer, with interests in early detection strategies, disease biomarkers, mechanistic investigations, and translational diagnostic approaches. Current work integrates clinical biochemistry, molecular epidemiology, and translational medicine to identify and validate novel non-invasive approaches for cancer detection and risk stratification.

A major focus of my research is understanding the biological and molecular mechanisms underlying colorectal cancer development in diverse populations, particularly within low- and middle-income countries. My work involves collaborative cancer research programmes with the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC-WHO), where I serve as Principal Investigator for colorectal cancer research initiatives in Pakistan, with the aim of improving early diagnosis, translational research capacity, and clinically relevant diagnostic approaches.

PhD Opportunities

I am always keen to hear from prospective PhD students interested in colorectal cancer research, particularly early-onset colorectal cancer. Individuals with relevant academic or research backgrounds and secured PhD funding are welcome to get in touch regarding potential doctoral research and collaborative opportunities.
