With the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of medicine, there have been many applications that rely on this technology for cardiovascular imaging. It could serve as a supplementary diagnostic tool to clinicians to guide the assessment of cardiovascular diseases and enhance the diagnostic and treatment procedures. In this chapter, we summarize the recent advances of AI in cardiac computed tomography, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, and cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) research. Although AI has been already implemented in several clinical applications, it is still at a nascent stage to be fully relied on. Thus we present some of the challenges and future direction that should be taken into consideration for a bright future in AI for cardiovascular image assessment.
