𝘖𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳: In this issue, Tong et al. show that the pancreatic alpha cells modulate beta cell function via enriched nanodomains of GLP-1 receptor in the nearest beta cell surface that are more secretory than the more distant beta cells. The image shows the large magenta-coloured alpha cell in contact with the signal-sensing, lilac-green beta cell.
