After completing my PhD degree in Immunology, I joined the team of Professor Alexander Medvinsky, in Edinburgh. There, I developed a special interest in the process of Endothelial-to-Hematopoietic Transition (EHT) involved in blood emergence within mouse embryos. So, I decided to start a postdoctoral fellowship in the lab of Professor Marella de Bruijn, who describe the importance of a master transcription factor of EHT, Runx1.
In her lab, I have been involved in several projects on embryonic hematopoiesis. I have been particularly fascinated by the characterization of Runx1 cis-elements, that will elucidate the trans-acting factors which trigger EHT. I established, in collaboration with other members of the lab, the Runx1 enhancer-specific activity within discreet cell populations by using novel transgenic enhancer-reporter mouse lines. This work represent an incredible opportunity to have a better understanding of Runx1 regulation and may suggest new approaches for in vitro generation of hematopoietic stem cells.
During my previous experiences, I have developed a strong expertise in FACS, in vivo experiments, and cell biology techniques. Being a postdoc with Professor Marella de Bruijn at the WIMM, I have been well initiated to mouse ES cell system and molecular biology techniques as RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, Chip-qPCR and CRISPR/Cas9 technology.
