I joined the Metabolic Research Group in 2016. The group undertakes whole-body human physiological and cellular studies to investigate human metabolism. They use a combination of in vivo and in vitro studies that incorporate metabolically-labelled substrates (stable-isotope tracers) to investigate metabolic pathways in humans. My role is to assist these studies through isolation and maintenance of primary cell lines in tissue culture, while exposing them to varying conditions. I am involved in processing samples, collection and analysis of data and general laboratory upkeep.
