RGN, BA, MSc
Clinical Research Support Associate
My career started as a nurse, working across a variety of surgical specialiaties in both the state and private sector. I undertook my Masters part-time while working in London and soon after moved abroad, where I raised my family. On returning to the UK, I joined NDORMS, where I worked as a research nurse on a rheumatology study. Thereafter, my main research experience was developed over 4 years as a clinical trial manager, managing OVIVA, a large RCT trial investigating oral versus intravenous antibiotics for bone and joint infections.
During this trial, I was the CI for a small qualitative study investigating the patients' and researchers' experiences of the site set-ups and the recruitment processes. My current role enables me to develop my skills managing a study in a new and growing department of Experimental Therapeutics.
