Ravneet Bhuller

Postdoctoral Bioinformatician

I completed my MSc in Bioinformatics in 2014 and PhD in Computational Biology in 2018 under the supervision of Professor Paul Langford, Dr John Pinney and Dr Caroline Colijn from Imperial College London. During my PhD, I applied a comparative genomic approach to analyse the genomes of 221 Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae isolates so as to identify conserved virulence factors which could be potential vaccine candidates. The other aspects of my PhD include pan-genome analysis, phylogenetic analysis and selection pressure analysis in Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae.

I joined Professor Terence Rabbitts group at the WIMM as a post-doc bioinformatician in January 2018 and my work here is focused on identifying markers in tumour cells which could be potential drug targets using computational methods.
