Moritz Hundertmark
MD
Clinical Research Fellow and DPhil Student
As a DPhil student under supervision of Prof. Stefan Neubauer and Dr. Masliza Mahmod I am assessing cardiac energy metabolism by using various cardiovascular magnetic resonance techniques in the Oxford Centre for Clinical Magnetic Resonance Research (OCMR) as part of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Oxford.
Since having done basic research as part of my MD thesis, my aim is to combine basic and clinical research to translate scientific findings into improvements in patient care. I am also interested in setting up randomised clinical trials with heart failure patients, since my main area of interest is heart failure and related metabolic disturbances.
I am a cardiology trainee specialising in heart failure care, intensive care medicine and non-invasive imaging, specifically Echocardiography and cardiac MRI. My medical degree and the MD thesis (Julius-Maximilians-University Wuerzburg, Germany) were both awarded with first class honours.
