Clinical Research Nurse
I work as a Clinical Research Nurse within Professor Barbara Casadei's group. I am involved in the setup and running of various clinical research studies. I have a particular interest in atrial fibrillation and part of my work involves the designing and development of a new project surrounding the management of AF in primary care.
I am currently leading for the Oxford site on the Beta3 LVH trial, a European multi centre randomised controlled trial focusing on the treatment of structural heart disease. I also work in collaboration with other members of the Casadei group and support them in their research surrounding the role of oxidative stress in the human myocardium.
Within the Oxford University Trust, I am a hypertension nurse specialist and work with colleagues in delivering this service in the Oxford Heart Centre at the John Radcliffe Hospital. This my second appointment as a Clinical Research Nurse. Prior to this post, I worked within the Clinical Trials Unit at the University's Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences. There I supported both the TASMINH4 and OxRen studies, which focused on hypertension management and chronic kidney disease respectively.
