Maria Milano

Research Assistant

I work in a European project called STARBIOS2 (Structural Transformation to Attain Responsible BioSciences). The aim is to promote Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) for bioscience organisations across Europe. The consortium includes five other European centres: Rome (Italy), Bremen (Germany), Gdansk (Poland), Sophia (Bulgaria), and Primorska (Slovenia) as well as three international partners from Maryland (USA), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), and Cape Town (South Africa).

I work along with our Senior Research Fellow Dr Laurel Edmunds. Our work is focused on five key themes: Public Engagement, Gender Equality, Science Education, Open Access, and Ethics.

I graduated as a physician in 2011 in Argentina and then did a Postgraduate Specialisation in General Medicine.
