Scientific Project Manager
My name is Marco Pontecorvi and from October 2016 I have worked as Scientific Project Manager for the NIHR/BRC Diabetes Theme, led by Prof. Anna Gloyn at OCDEM (Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism, Churchill Hospital). My role includes supporting the grant stakeholders and their wide portfolio of translational research projects, managing the group website and coordinating both patient and public outreach activities for the department. I have a BSc(Hons) in Molecular Biology, a Ph.D. in Psychobiology and a PGCE in Physics. I worked before as a postdoctoral fellow with Prof. Colin Goding (Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, University of Oxford) from 2006 to 2011, when I left academia to become a teacher of Physics and career manager. I taught Physics, Maths and Psychology in various schools in Oxfordshire up to my present appointment at OCDEM.
