Mahesh is a Rhodes and Radcliffe Department of Medicine Scholar. He graduated from Adelaide University, Australia in 2013 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery as well as a Bachelor of Medical Science (Hons). Prior to joining OCDEM to undertake a DPhil he worked in clinical medicine at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the Royal Adelaide Intensive Care Research Department. His interest are clinical practice, translation of evidence based healthcare and clinical research in type 2 diabetes, particularly focusing on the incretin GLP-1.  Mahesh's DPhil is entitled 'Physiological investigation of causal genetic variants in metabolic disease.' He is being supervised by Professor Anna Gloyn and Professor Mark McCarthy.
