Head of Administration and Finance

I work closely with the Head of Department, Divisional Heads, Lead Divisional Administrators and the RDM Strategic team on all aspects of policy, strategic planning, development, growth and sustainability whilst enabling the administrative teams to provide the service, resources, advice and information required for the department's effective operation. This is achieved by providing advice and support to staff across RDM; supporting the administrative function across RDM; and liaising with other University Departments, the Medical Sciences Division and the Central University.

Key areas of responsibility: Financial management and planning; Personnel management and planning; Academic recruitments; Athena SWAN; Departmental governance; Operational non-academic management, including specific projects; Lead RDM Strategic; Manage RDM trainee administrator scheme; Support Experimental Therapeutics; Membership of RDM, MSD and University Committees and Working Groups.

I have worked for the University since 1992 as a Departmental Administrator within the Medical Sciences Division; 12 years in the Nuffield Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (including a six month secondment to Wellington Square), 8 years in Cardiovascular Medicine, and the Radcliffe Department of Medicine since 2012. Prior to Oxford I spent 6 years with the Science and Engineering Research Council (Chemistry and Nuclear Physics) and 7 years as Departmental Administrator in the Chemistry Department, Imperial College.
