Specialist Research Echocardiographer
I currently lead the echocardiography service within CCRF. I provide specialist support and teaching to a range of clinical trials and clinical research studies within the facility. These include studies that assess myocardial function during stress or following interventions, applications of novel biomedical engineering technologies, use of echocardiography within multimodality imaging (in particular in conjunction with cardiovascular magnetic resonance) and core laboratory echocardiography analysis work.
Impaired myocardial reserve underlies reduced exercise capacity and heart rate recovery in preterm-born young adults.
