As Assistant clinical research coordinator I am supporting researchers in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine (CVM) in all things related to Ethics and Research Governance requirements to conduct clinical trials and research studies within the Division. My work involves interaction with researchers, sponsor representatives and HRA for the preparation, review and submission of study documents. Further responsibilities include continuous REC reporting for active studies, internal study monitoring, archiving and reporting of recruitment numbers to various organisations. I have joined Cardiovascular Medicine in September 2016, after having initiated a career change into trials administration a year prior to this. My background is in biomedical research, I have completed my PhD at the University of Oxford in Immunology in 2005 and worked for 10 years as Post-doctoral researcher in biomedical research in various laboratories around the globe.
