Hosuk Ryou
Postdoctoral Research Assistant
I am a postdoctoral research assistant in Computational Pathology, working within Prof. Daniel Royston's group where we focus on the quantitative image analysis of blood cancers using artificial intelligence and machine learning.
I completed my DPhil in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford, under the supervision of Professor J. Alison Noble. My doctoral research focused on the automated health assessment of first-trimester fetal ultrasound images using machine learning techniques. Following the completion of my DPhil, I gained industry experience before transitioning to my current postdoctoral role.
My main research interest is the application of machine/deep learning to medical image analysis. I am currently working on AI-based image analysis of myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), particularly on analysing related key cellular and stromal tissue components, including their spatial relationships, using machine/deep learning.
