Research Grants Manager
I have worked for the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine since 2009 when I joined as a Finance/Personnel assistant and have progressed to my current position of Research Grants Manager, where I now lead the Grants Administration team.
I support academic staff in the preparation of grant applications and X5 costings, deal with post-award grant management, financial reporting to funders, audit preparation, budgeting and dissemination of relevant information to grant holders.
CVMed has a large grants portfolio, from a large variety of funders including charities, research councils, government and industry. With the increasing complexity of both the application procedures and grants management I work closely with PIs and funders, alongside Research Services, Research Accounts, Clinical Governance, Personnel and Accounts Payables teams to ensure all aspects of the awards are co-ordinated and spending abides by the funders' terms and conditions. I also provide support to the divisional Administrator in financial management of the division, reporting on General Ledger budgets and running monthly financial reports as well dealing with general finance related queries.
Additionally, I am the Graduate Studies Administrator within the division, which includes liaising with the division's Graduate Advisor and students with regard to any graduate studies administration and coordinating candidate interviews and regular meetings between current students and Advisor. If you have any queries regarding research grants or graduate studies administration within our division, please don't hesitate to contact me.
