I work in a preclinical MRI group, and mostly focus on image reconstruction and analysis. I mostly work with a special kind of MRI called Diffusion MRI, which lets us measure the motion of water on very short time and distance scales. The way that the water diffuses gives a wealth of information about the tissue microstructure, which we can use to characterise various pathologies. Diffusion MRI has gained a lot of attention in the brain, but is nowhere near as widespread in the heart.
