Grants/Research Support Officer
My primary role in the WIMM admin team is to manage all funding applications on behalf of NDCLS researchers based in the institute. It is my responsibility to ensure that all applications are costed appropriately, the documentation is complete and the submission complies with the funder's requirements. I liaise with the University's Research Services Office to process applications and arrange for new awards to be set up.
I circulate new funding opportunities to our PIs and postdocs as they arise and from time to time suggest specific calls which might suit particular individuals or initiatives.
I also provide support to postdoctoral researchers who are thinking about their next career step; talking through some of the different options open to them (applying to small funds to build up their CV, going through the fellowship route). Writing an application for the first time can be quite scary, but I am here to explain the application process, advise on the costs to include and make sure that all the supporting documents requested are attached to the application. Before joining the WIMM Admin Team in 2014 I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the WTCHG for over 10 years. I gained my PhD in France in 2003. For any grant query, you can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org Please note that, although I can answer everyone's general questions, I can only give admin support to the following groups: Buckle, De Bruijn, Fulga, Gibbons, Goriely, Higgs, Hughes, Jacobsen, Morrissey, Mead, Milne, Nerlov, Patient, Porcher, Rabbitts, Sauka-Spengler, Smith, Taylor, Vyas, Weatherall and Wilkie.
